This course is made available through the eLearnAfrica and FutureLearn partnership.
In this digital era of smartphones, video conferences and online interviews, we are constantly needing to pitch ourselves to other people.
Making a good impression can be the difference between getting a job or not getting one. This course will cover everything you need to know about power dressing so you can make the best impression you can.
You’ll understand how body language, hair and makeup, accessories, colour psychology and body language all contribute to power dressing, and how you can implement all of these factors together to portray the image and message you are wanting to get across.
You’ll also cover the art of wardrobe styling and will find out how to build a sustainable wardrobe for the workplace.
You’ll be learning about the context of power dressing, covering everything from its importance throughout history, how wars have affected what men and women wear, and the effect that mass production and celebrity culture has had on the concept.
You’ll also differentiate between how to dress for your personal brand and also how to dress for a business, and will decipher how intercultural dress codes play their part in this globalised world.
