Course Description

This course is made available through the eLearnAfrica and FutureLearn partnership.

Build the knowledge and skills you need for managing projects that succeed

This course will teach you how to use project management techniques to organise your projects and make sure they succeed.

You’ll be introduced to the concepts and strategies behind effective project management, and learn how to create a project plan that works for everything from large-scale projects to daily work tasks.

Learn how to apply project management concepts to your work

Project plans are a common and effective way of organising work, no matter what your job is. The goal when managing a project is to fulfil your aim on time and on budget. It sounds simple, but the uncertainty and often complex nature of tasks and assignments means that project management can be challenging.

This course explores how it’s possible to plan for project success every time, as well as how to define exactly what success means for you and your projects.

Get tips for taking on project management for SMEs

The course is designed to give you core knowledge around project planning and project management, and that means using your problem-solving skills to handle unexpected challenges.

Using case studies and examples from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), you’ll build your confidence for tackling any issues that may come your way when managing projects at an SME.

Use project planning tools and processes to solve common project challenges

By examining and analysing specific project scenarios, you’ll discover how to identify successful solutions and improve project management processes at your organisation.

Learning from subject-matter experts in project management and process management and project- and problem-based learning, you’ll feel ready to handle the transition from taking a project plan to project realisation and success.

This course is designed for anyone interested in learning about project management and how to think when planning for project success.

The case studies and examples used are specially designed for highlighting project management challenges in small and medium-sized organisations (SMEs).
